    About Us

    The Caroline County Human Society (CCHS), together with it's Animal Control Division located in Ridgely, Maryland, is responsible for the care and control of animals located in Caroline County. Services provided include enforcing the laws of the State of Maryland and Caroline County related to animal welfare and control, collecting strays, investigating alleged cruelty complaints and ordinance violations, and investigating and taking appropriate action in cases of dangerous or vicious animals. Additional services to the public include operating a successful pet adoption program, conducting education programs, spay/neuter clinics, rabies and microchip clinics, and providing public services such as transportation for special needs individuals and their pets. Hours of operation at the animal shelter are 9:00 a.m. -
    4: 30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
