CENTREVILLE, Md. — Compass Regional Hospice (Compass) has been named to Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare list for 2026, marking the third consecutive year the organization has received this recognition. Compass is one of 150 organizations recognized nationwide through the program, which honors employers that empower staff to deliver exceptional care, service, and support.
The nationwide recognition is based on a two-part assessment conducted in partnership with Workforce Research Group, including an employer assessment and an employee feedback survey. The program recognizes outstanding healthcare employers, and for Compass, the honor reflects a workplace culture grounded in its mission, vision, and values.
Compass Regional Hospice has provided hospice care, supportive care, and grief support services throughout Caroline, Kent, and Queen Anne’s counties for over 40 years. Whether serving patients in their homes, nursing facilities, or its residential center in Centreville, the organization remains devoted to helping
individuals and families find comfort, peace, and meaning during life’s most challenging moments.
This honor speaks to the power of a workplace where people feel seen, respected, and connected to a shared mission. In hospice care, that sense of support reaches far beyond the team itself, touching patients, families, caregivers, and the wider community in deeply meaningful ways.
“Being named to Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare list is a meaningful honor for our entire organization,” said Heather Guerieri, RN, MSN, Chief Executive Officer of Compass. “This recognition reflects the commitment our staff and volunteers bring to each person and family we serve, as well as the compassion that defines our mission every day.”
“What makes Compass exceptional is the genuine compassion, respect, commitment, and trust our staff show one another every day,” said Sandi Davis, Human Resources Director of Compass. “That culture of support helps our team bring steadiness, kindness, and compassion to patients, families, and caregivers during some of life’s most difficult times.”
