DENTON, MD — Tanglewood Conservatories, a Denton, Maryland based designer and
manufacturer of custom conservatories and greenhouses, will be featured on Maryland
Public Television’s Made in Maryland on Wednesday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m.
The feature takes viewers behind the scenes at Tanglewood’s Denton facility, where
their team of craftspeople transforms raw materials into one-of-a-kind architectural
structures installed throughout the United States and around the world.
Viewers will meet some of the people behind the work and see firsthand the skill,
precision, problem solving, and hands-on craftsmanship required to bring each project
from an architectural idea to a finished structure.
Built by Maryland Craftspeople
No two projects that move through Tanglewood’s shop are exactly alike.
Each requires a unique combination of woodworking, metal fabrication, glazing,
construction, finishing, engineering, and installation. Traditional building skills are
paired with modern technology and specialized techniques as craftspeople solve the
challenges that come with creating highly detailed architectural work.
For the people building them, these projects offer something increasingly uncommon:
the opportunity to follow a piece from raw material through fabrication and ultimately
see it become part of an extraordinary, finished structure.
The Made in Maryland feature follows that process, highlighting both the finished
architecture and the people whose hands bring it to life.
