2026 YMCA SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN
Early Bird Savings, Overnight Camp Options & Summer Job Opportunities Available

Easton, Md – Registration for 2026 YMCA of the Chesapeake youth summer camps is now open, giving families across the Eastern Shore the opportunity to plan for a summer filled with fun, friendship, and growth.

“Our summer camps are designed to give kids a place where they can explore new interests, make friends, and grow in confidence,” said Robbie Gill, CEO of YMCA of the Chesapeake. “Whether they’re trying a sport for the first time, diving into creative arts, or simply enjoying the outdoors, every child will leave with meaningful experiences and lifelong memories. There’s truly no place like this place for summer fun.”

At the YMCA of the Chesapeake, camps focus on enhancing friendship, accomplishment, and belonging — helping children build confidence and independence through hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, skill development, and new experiences.

Most day camps operate Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm, with before and after camp care available at no extra charge.

Camp programs will be available at the Cecil County YMCA, Easton Family YMCA, Henson Camp Cook in Salisbury, Kent County Family YMCA, Lower Shore Family YMCA, Queen Anne’s County Family YMCA, and the Pauline F. and W. David Robbins Family YMCA in Cambridge.

In addition to traditional day camps, select overnight camp experiences are available at YMCA Camp Racing Moon in Pocomoke City, Maryland, on the Lower Eastern Shore. Overnight camp provides youth with an opportunity to build independence, strengthen friendships, and connect with the outdoors in a safe and supportive environment guided by trained YMCA staff.

Parents and guardians can register now on the YMCA of the Chesapeake website. Families who enroll before March 31st will receive a waiver of the $25 registration fee.

Teens Encouraged to Apply for Summer Day Camp Counselor Positions

The YMCA of the Chesapeake is also now hiring summer day camp counselors across its service area. These positions provide teens and young adults with a rewarding summer job that builds leadership skills, strengthens communication abilities, and offers meaningful work experience.

Serving as a camp counselor is an opportunity to positively impact the lives of younger children while gaining valuable professional skills. Counselors serve as role models, mentors, and leaders — helping campers discover new strengths and develop confidence in a supportive environment.

“Being a camp counselor is more than just a summer job,” Gill added. “It’s a chance for teens to grow as leaders, build lifelong skills, and make a real difference in the lives of children in their own communities.” Teens interested in applying can visit https://ymcachesapeake.org/employment to learn more about available positions, qualifications, and training opportunities.
