Santé Receives Community Grant from Walmart Easton During Grand Reopening Celebration
Easton, MD — Santé, the Eastern Shore’s primary mental and behavioral health crisis intervention resource, announced that it received a community grant from Walmart Easton during the grand reopening of the retailer’s newly renovated Easton, Maryland store on July 31.
Walmart Easton Store Manager Tyia Mason highlighted the strength of the ongoing partnership between Walmart and Santé, stating, “We truly value our partnership with your organization and appreciate the positive impact you make in our community. I’m excited to be celebrating this special occasion together and sharing this memorable moment with you and your team.”
The grant supports Santé’s outreach efforts to expand its two‑day ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) workshops. Walmart’s contribution strengthens Santé’s ability to reach more community partners and encourage participation in this evidence‑based, life‑saving training. ASIST equips participants with practical skills for recognizing and responding to suicide risk—an essential resource for communities across the Eastern Shore.
“Santé is grateful for Walmart Easton’s continued partnership,” Santé’s Kathy Hanna shared. “Thanks to this community support, behavioral health professionals, businesses, and residents across our region are able to take part in training that builds preparedness, confidence, and connection. Together, we are strengthening the safety net for our neighbors.”
Santé provides 24/7 crisis intervention for adults, children, families, and communities across the Eastern Shore. With a team of licensed counselors, therapists, clinicians, and peers, Santé helps individuals stabilize during moments of crisis and ensures no one walks alone. Through dynamic, comprehensive, and person‑centered care, Santé works alongside community partners to promote mental wellness and support those facing challenges.
